The Reach Truck Course ensures the course candidate establishes a good level of theory knowledge and practical skills.
The course covers safe use of fork trucks and the dangers if used incorrectly as well as high to low racking and stacking work duties.

The basic course syllabus includes:

  • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 & ACOP
  • Operatives Responsibilities & PPE
  • Area Hazards and Risk Assessment
  • Principles of Stability
  • Rated Capacity and Safe Working Loads
  • Pre-start Checks and Controls
  • Manoeuvring, Stop & Start, Steering
  • Lifting & Lowering – Stacking & De-stacking
  • Attachments and their purpose
  • High-eye & Low-level Stacking
  • Work Procedures
  • Pre Use Check Assessment
  • Practical Assessment
  • Theory Test

 

Course Duration

As with all our courses, we will adapt the Reach Course to suit the experience and number of candidates on the course, which may affect the duration.

Refresher Course: 1 day
Semi Experienced Course: 3 days
Novice Operative Course: 5 days
