Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator

First Aid at Work (FAW) courses do not cover the use of defibrillators. If you provide a defibrillator in your workplace, it is important that those who may use it are appropriately trained.

This qualification provides learners with skills to further their First Aid training.
It is recommended as training for first aiders in the workplace environment who have access to a defibrillator.
Learners gaining this qualification will know that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External De-fibrillation form an essential part of the chain of survival.

The topics covered are regarded by Skills for Health as being important to maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external de-fibrillation.

There are no prerequisites for this qualification; however, HABC recommends best practice is for learners to hold a valid EFAW certificate.

It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
